This October, Youth Tennis San Diego combined the thrill of tennis with the spooky spirit of Halloween, creating a morning full of laughter, movement, and community connection on the courts! On Saturday, October 18th, more than 50 junior players from across the community joined us at Urban Village Rec for our annual Halloween Tennis Festival.
Our dedicated team of community coaches and youth volunteers from "Team Volunteers In Action", led an action-packed morning of Halloween-themed games, drills, prizes and pizza! Kids tested their skills in creative activities like the “Spider Crawl” and ventured through the “Dungeon,” all while enjoying the fun of the season. Smiles, teamwork, and energy filled the courts as players celebrated Halloween in an active and memorable way!
Thanks to our continued partnership with the City of San Diego and Price Philanthropies, Urban Village Rec has become more than just a tennis facility—it’s a hub for youth development and community connection. Through our weekly FREE programs, we offer:
· Tennis lessons for youth of all ages
· Teen fitness classes
· Homework tutoring
· Parent tennis clinics
Weekend events like the Halloween Tennis Festival strengthen community ties and highlight that tennis is FUN, inclusive, and inspiring. By combining sport, education, and community engagement, we’re creating opportunities for youth to grow both on and off the court.
At Youth Tennis San Diego, we’re not just teaching tennis—we’re building community, confidence, and a lifelong love for the game. Our programs continue to empower young players while fostering a positive and active environment for families throughout the region.
