A Successful Fall Season for Youth Tennis San Diego

Our fall session of After School Tennis programs are coming to a close throughout the community — at local schools, parks and recreation centers, and right here at the Barnes Tennis Center! From August through November, Youth Tennis San Diego provided 50 programs at low cost or no cost to participants. These programs reached hundreds of youth across San Diego — from South Bay to La Jolla — giving many children their very first opportunity to experience the sport of tennis!

Through our community programs, we teach the fundamentals of tennis, build confidence on and off the court, and inspire a lifelong love for the game. Youth Tennis San Diego provides all needed equipment, instructor pay, facility permits, and insurance — ensuring that every child can participate without financial barriers. Tennis courts are not even required onsite — with portable nets, we can transform any blacktop surface into a fun and active tennis space!

Our goal is to keep tennis fun, inclusive, and accessible, while inspiring players to continue their journey on the courts. Many participants go on to advance their skills through scholarship opportunities and our Barnes Tennis Center programs. We’re especially grateful to the teachers who coach onsite at their schools, offering their students opportunities they might not otherwise have. With the help of dedicated teachers, community instructors, and volunteers, we’re proud to share our passion for tennis with San Diego’s youth year-round.

We wrapped up our fall session with prizes,

smiles, and celebrations on the courts! More than just tennis, our programs provide a place where students build friendships, confidence, and a team spirit that extends far beyond the game. And it’s not just the kids having fun — our instructors enjoy their time on the courts as well, sharing their love for the sport and inspiring the next generation of tennis players!
